At Clyde & Co, we recruit our Scottish trainees exclusively via our vacation schemes. As we recruit two years in advance for our training contracts, you should apply for a vacation scheme during the penultimate year of your law degree. We offer training contracts in our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

If you’re keen to embark on a career in law, a vacation scheme with us could be the perfect stepping stone. These two weeks will give you a real insight into Clyde & Co Scotland, the opportunity to learn about how the law is applied in our core industry sectors and we’ll always aim to enable you to be placed in the department of your choice.
That’s not all…
At the end of your vacation scheme, if you decide you want to join us, we’ll run an interview there and then. We’ll ask why you want to join us and what you think you can offer – especially given that you’d got to know us. We’ll ask for feedback from our teams too.
Throughout your time with us, you can expect unrivalled training and support. You’ll have a dedicated buddy on hand to help you over the two weeks – and beyond. You’ll also receive guidance from a senior fee earner along with coaching and support from our early careers team – especially when it comes to your training contract interviews.
The online application form will only ask for your personal details and qualifications. Within a week of applying, you will receive an invite to our Digital Assessment, including video interview questions and written responses.
Do well in your Digital Assessment, and you’ll be invited to a virtual assessment centre. You’ll have a strengths-based interview with a Partner and Senior Associate and will be asked to complete a written task.
